The Equal Opportunities Commission (the EOC) recommend that all employers have processes in place to ensure that all new starters receive training within a specified period. In addition, that people promoted internally should receive distinct training for managers on equal opportunities, again within a specified period of time. They also recommend that refresher training is carried out periodically. Separate Workshops are therefore available for:
- Senior staff who manage others
- Staff below management level
Workshop Aims
This workshop has been designed to assist organisations in meeting their obligation to: “Provide regular training and guidance for all staff to ensure that they understand their position in law and their responsibilities and duties under the employer’s Equality and Fairness at Work Policy”

Projections – how our prejudices and preconceptions can cloud our judgement
Diversity – explore how diversity in ability and beliefs can enrich our life
Cultural – look at cultural differences, not just of other countries, but also of different regions Increasing awareness – by looking at many other areas of concern e.g.
- Disabilities
- Racial
- Harassment
- Sexual
- Direct and Indirect discrimination
And other aspects as appropriate.
